If a Fast Gas Scooter is what you are after then all you need to look for is one that is a) powered by a two-stroke engine and b) comes with an upgraded exhaust system and finally c) is fitted with an up-sized carburettor. These three things will make your scooter as fast as you would want to go without doing yourself too much damage!

Of course you could always opt for the larger capacity engines that are available on the larger almost-motorcycle-size scooters but then you are looking at a completely different price range and licensing and registration requirements.

If you are just after a small handy scooter to zip around town or run down to the local shops without having to drag the car out but want to get there as quick as possible a small 50cc scooter with the above mentioned modifications will serve you well.

Another important factor to look for when deciding on a scooter, a centrifugal clutch allows you to come to a complete standstill with the engine still running. Not all Scooters are fitted with a centrifugal clutch and if you plan on travelling where stops will be frequent it certainly pays to have the convenience that they offer.

Also when riding your super-fast Scooter be sure to wear all the appropriate safety gear including a helmet, elbow and knee pads just to mention the basics. Sure they may be a lot more convenient than a motor car but keep in mind you don’t have much protection around you and I can assure you motor cars hurt like hell when you go plowing into one, as do pedestrians for that matter.
